Ayala ENT & Facial Plastic Surgery is located in McAllen, Texas. It is led by Dr. Carlos Ayala, who has earned board certification in both Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery. Dr. Ayala retired from the US Air Force after reaching the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He earned his medical degree from the UCLA School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Medical Honor Society called Alpha Omega Alpha. He served both an internship and a residency at the Harvard School of Medicine. He then earned a Fellowship in Facial Plastic Surgery from the Lasky Clinic in Beverly Hills. Dr. Ayala is a member of the following professional organizations: the American College of Surgeons, the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery, and the American Society of Laser Medicine & Surgery.

How are Allergies Treated?
The first step in treating an allergy is identifying the allergen causing it. Pollen is the most common cause of allergic rhinitis or inflammation of the nose caused by allergic reactions. Pet dander and mold are other common causes of allergic rhinitis.
Allergies are always caused by the immune system overreacting to a given stimuli. The treatments can take the form of drops or shots customized for the patient and their allergy or allergies. The dosage can be adjusted until the patient no longer reacts to the allergen.
What is the Simply Sinus Procedure ℠?
Also known as NuVent, the Simply Sinus Procedure ℠ is a minimally-invasive treatment for patients with chronic sinusitis or inflammation of the sinuses that is often caused by blocked or abnormally narrow sinuses. The procedure can be performed in the comfort of our office in McAllen, and the patient will be given a local anesthetic beforehand. Our ENT will use imaging technology like ultrasound to guide him through the patient’s nose. He will insert a catheter with a balloon mounted on the end up the patient’s nostril and maneuver it to the problem sinus. He will then inflate the balloon to widen and/or unblock the sinus. The procedure usually takes only a few minutes.
