Brow Lift in McAllen, TX
What is a Brow Lift?
You may not notice it right away, but your brow starts to sag as part of the aging process. This occurs for two reasons. First, the skin loses elastin and collagen that provide firm support in young skin. Second, fat in the brow area sags due to the effects of gravity. The result is a brow line that is lower on your face, and this gives your eyes a tired appearance. Brow lift surgery tightens the forehead area to give you a younger appearance.
What Are the Benefits of a Forehead Lift?
- Softens lines and wrinkles on the forehead
- May help with lines between the eyes
- Lifts the brow and forehead area
- Helps the eyes look more open
Who is a Good Candidate for a Brow Lift?
The best candidate for a forehead lift is someone whose brow line and forehead have advanced signs of aging. Typically these types of creases and wrinkles cannot be remedied with dermal fillers, injectables and other types of non-surgical procedures.
How is the Vectra H1 Imaging System Used for Facial Plastic Surgery?
The changes that occur with forehead lift surgery can be difficult to visualize, even if you look at before and after pictures of our other patients. Dr. Ayala uses the Vectra H1 imaging system as part of his patient care so that you can see a 3D representation of how you look now and how you will look after your brow lift. The system also provides Dr. Ayala with information about your skin health that guides treatment planning.
What is the Procedure for a Forehead Lift?
The three techniques used by Dr. Ayala for performing a forehead lift are:
- Endoscopic, with small incisions placed inside the hairline above the forehead
- Limited incision brow lift that requires incisions around the temples, as well as inside the hairline
- Classic forehead lift for advanced cases using a single incision that is made from one ear to the other following a path inside the hairline
What is Recovery Like After a Forehead Lift?
